Artists, Misunderstood
The thing about having depression or an addiction is that it turns us
into an artist, but not in a good way. We become creative in ways we
never thought were possible- fabricating lies to hide our behaviors,
planning articulate regimens to fuel our disorder. We use your own
bodies for a canvas of self destruction. As the artist we become
completely submerged in the work we’re doing to the point where we can’t
come up for air. Just like any other artist, our work is our
masterpiece and becomes the focal point of our existence. People on the
outside can’t wrap their heads around the madness that consumes our
life. We are artists misunderstood in need of a fresh point of view, a
blank canvas, and the inspiration to create something better.
